doc martens shoe Barkey to run for Washington County Clerk and Recorder
It is my pleasure to announce that I, Lori Barkey, am running for Washington County Clerk and Recorder in the upcoming election. First, I must say that I have enjoyed my employment at the Washington County Clerk and Recorder’s office for the past 39 years. With my service, I have gained all the experience one would need to be qualified for the County Clerk’s position through conference workshop trainings,
Department of Revenue meetings, election/voter education programs and on the job training. I recognize our office needs to evolve with the times to satisfy our customer’s needs. My goal is to use my long term experiences and skills that I have acquired as an employee and as a Deputy Clerk to improve customer satisfaction, work effectively and efficiently, and make the clerk’s office work more transparent.
In the 37 years I have served under Garland Wahl as a Deputy Clerk, I have had the privilege of becoming skillful in all duties of the Clerk. These include,
but are not limited to, motor vehicle registrations, land recordings, land plats, marriage licenses,
driver’s licenses, voter registration and general election issues. The Clerk also has a relationship with the Board of County Commissioners and is responsible for the minutes and record keeping of hearings, publications of notices and generally attesting to official county documents approved by the Board.
I have a true commitment to customer service that I will bring to the working operations of our office at all levels. I am a very “hands on” working individual and will promote teamwork, as well as leadership within the Clerk’s office. There is no job that is more important than any other job, and if given the opportunity to be your next Washington County Clerk and Recorder,
I plan on fostering genuine relationships with the citizens and serving the public to the best of my ability. I would love to have your support and vote in the upcoming 2018 county election.
