doc martens boots uk Battle of the Build
To build or not to build? That is the question. When it comes to bungalows, there are many benefits. Most everything you need to access daily is located on the main floor. You could comfortably have up to three bedrooms (depending on square footage) on the main floor with a main bath, master ensuite, kitchen,
living room and even a laundry room. For people with reduced mobility, having everything on one floor becomes very beneficial, as you don have to climb any stairs to get to a bedroom.
It also possible to build a bungalow home with minimal steps coming into the house to possibly no steps at all. Since everything is on the main floor, your house would be either wider or longer giving you a larger street appeal.
One reason some people choose not to build a bungalow is the need to find a larger lot in the city to build your home on,
or perhaps build on a acreage. As subdivisions continue to focus more and more on increasing density, this overtime will become more difficult. Another con to having everyone on one level is that if you have young children and you entertaining guests in the living room, you may have a difficult time having the sound travel down the hallway and waking up your kids. Typically in a two storey home, the bedrooms are located on the second floor with a main bathroom,
master ensuite and either a playroom or bonus space over the garage. The main floor can have a laundry room, office, kitchen, half bath,
living room and dining room. Since the entertainment area, the kitchen/living room, is separated from the bedrooms this does give more flexibility for young families, as children can be upstairs sleeping while you have company on the main floor.
Having an additional flight of stairs might be a benefit to younger families but for those with mobility issues,
this becomes more physically challenging.
When it comes to deciding between a bungalow and a two storey it really does come down to a matter of preference to what you looking for. As someone with a young family, my wife would prefer a two storey to have a little separation when the kids are going to bed. There have been instances where we have to go to the basement to entertain our friends because we were too noisy upstairs.
