dr marten Barton handed triple injury boost
Only Greenman has had recent competitive action with a couple of recent outings, and he seems the most likely to figure as Barton seeks to bolster a defence that has conceded 19 goals in nine games,
He said: “We need to see what reactions they have, and we need to look at assembling a side that will be a little bit better equipped to deal with defensive situations.
“Throwing people straight into the first team when they have been out for a long time is always difficult. But sometimes you have to take a few chances and see what happens.
“Micky is busting a gut to get going and he hasn’t had any football at all so far. He has worked very hard,
as has Chris.
“Ian has never had a hamstring problem before, and it is probably one of the most temperamental in juries you can have.”
On the debit side,
key midfielder Paul Carty is doubtful after injuring an ankle in Tuesday’s 3 2 defeat at Bath. But Barton said: “There is quite a bit of swelling, but he wants to play and we are hopeful.”
