NEW ROCHELLE FiOS1 News confirms the victim in last week’s stabbing at New Rochelle High School is related to the teen stabbed a year and a half ago at Isaac E. Young Middle School. Family says the victim in the latest incident is still in the hospital. Meanwhile, the suspect is still at large and some say he had a violent history. Keisha Clark Lopez said that her son was stabbed in May of 2016 at Isaac E. Young Middle School by the suspect accused of stabbing yet another student at New Rochelle High School on Jan. 18. Clark Lopez filed a lawsuit last year against the school district and the City of New Rochelle for a lack of supervision at Isaac E. Young Middle School that, she claims, led to her son being stabbed.
“He was bullying someone else, the perpetrator, and my son kind of intervened and told him to stop,” Clark Lopez said.
Clark Lopez’s son was stabbed twice in a fight with the suspect. Police say that the boy was arrested and charged with assault in the second degree. Clark Lopez’s attorney, Christina Hall says the teen was placed on probation for two years after pleading guilty to assault in the second degree in family court. Hall says he allegedly stabbed another student while still on probation.
