doc martens women Jean Kruger Walker

At the age of 11, she was bedridden with rheumatic fever, which sparked her interest in reading. During this year she read every book in the Baker library. She could be found reading several books at the same time.

She loved to cook. She enjoyed reading various cookbooks and trying out new recipes.

Jean had a love for animals. She would pick up strays to make sure that they had a home, including the turtle she found crossing Central Avenue one afternoon. One day while working at the animal shelter, she saved all of the cats and brought them home to the farm outside of Billings. She is leaving behind her two special cats Hannah and Maggie.

She is survived by her children, Connie (Pat) Songer of Helena, Kelley Nelson of Sheridan Wyo., Lisa Riggs, Julie (Flash) Fleishour, all from Billings, Corey (Jessica) Slates of Boulder and Ryan (Karen) Walker of Hillsboro, Ore., and siblings Shirley Martens, Bobby (Kris) Kruger all of Baker and Jim (Carolyn) Kruger of Spokane, Wash. She is survived by 19 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Muslimani of the Billings Clinic and to Merle of Rocky Mountain Hospice. Also both family friends Jane Fountain and Faith Taylor are thanked for being a strong support in our time of need.
