I came to NewsChannel 13 in September of 1993 as the main evening news anchor and in that time have seen the station grow into a strong news presence in Southern Colorado. I now co anchor “Good Morning Colorado” and NewsChannel 13 at Noon. Its an exciting job, but the real thrill comes when we get a chance to cover breaking news, bringing our viewers news stories as they are actually happening.
I certainly enjoyed many highlights in my broadcasting career here. One of my greatest thrills was getting to meet and interview the late ABC news anchor Peter Jennings, not once, but twice! Mr. Jennings was always approachable and accommodating during our insightful interviews. My passion for aviation has been fulfilled by several exciting airplane stories, most notably a flight aboard a world war two B 17 bomber from Denver to Colorado Springs. Producing special reports has taken me deep inside Cheyenne Mountain for an up close look at NORAD and on board a jet carrying federal prisoners for a series about the real “Con Air.”
By far my most rewarding experience comes from the many community events with which I involved. High on the agenda for administrators, this year is the need to fund this rapidly growing district.
